Wivace 2022 hosts two special session:


New perspectives on GP: thirty years after John Koza's first book

John Koza's 1992 book on Genetic programming paved the way for a new field of study, which continues to attract the interests of researchers and practitioners worldwide, ranging from the theorical aspects of GP to its application in solving new challenging real-world problems. The aim of this special session is to present recent advances in GP. Contributions either presenting theoretical results or new applications of GP are welcome.

Cognitive and Bio-inspired Systems

The aim of this session is to present recent advances in Cognitive and bio-inspired Systems. Cognitive AI agents are sensing-perception-action models that integrate intrinsic biological, cognitive and social mechanisms typical of humans including also: learning, language, knowledge, understanding, awareness, decision and planning. These agents, as part of the world we live in, should be able to make/trust decisions, take/delegate actions, and understand/collaborate with humans. This integration rests on highly interdisciplinary foundational research domains of Computational learning, representation and reasoning methods. The special session will provide a platform for academicians and researchers to present papers addressing fundamental and practical issues in cognitive computing and bio-inspired system.
